Your assisted living website needs to ease the anxiety families feel when choosing care for their loved ones. Here are the 6 essential features that build trust, answer questions, and fill your facility faster:
Let families explore your community from home with 360° photos and video walkthroughs.
Show transparent monthly costs with options for different care levels and room types.
Display your team's certifications, experience, and specialized training in senior care.
Clearly list everything from dining options to activities, healthcare services, and transportation.
Make it easy for families to book in-person visits with a simple online scheduling tool.
Share stories from current residents and their families about their care experience.
I sampled 2,279 assisted living communities across 24 cities, then audited the 1,642 websites among them. Here is where the score comes from, what those sites run on, and where the points are going.
74/100
Grade C, tied 10th of 47 industries I audited
The score is ten weighted checks, ranked here by what each one costs. The biggest single loss is page speed, at 6.7 of its 15 points. Longer bar, more points left on the table.
26 points of 100 left on the table. Track length is the check's weight, so a five-point check can never cost what a fifteen-point one does. Each check is averaged across the 24 markets, the same way the score itself is built, so these ten bars add back to the 74 above. The table at the foot of this section pools by sample size instead, which answers a different question and lands a little differently. Weights are on the methodology page.
I can tell a franchise or chain location from an independent, so here are both, on the checks where they split hardest. The widest gap is analytics: 67% of independents against 91% of chains.
Scale runs 0 to 100%. Only the checks where both groups were measured the same way are comparable, so speed and the meta checks sit this one out.
The platform behind each of the 1,642 homepages I audited, where I could identify one.
A platform was identified on 75% of audited sites. The rest are hand-built or run something the fingerprinting misses, and a site can match more than one, so these do not sum to 100%.
Every rate above has its own denominator. This is where they come from, out of the 2,858 businesses in this trade in my listings census.
Of the sites that never made it into the audit, 119 would not load, 64 blocked me, and 4 turned out to be a social profile rather than a website. 303 of the businesses sampled are chain or franchise locations. Full method on the methodology page.

Families researching senior care have a specific set of questions and trust signals they look for. Patrick covers what your site needs to answer those questions before a competitor does.
Families spend months researching before making a call. Here is how we make sure your community shows up, earns trust, and converts that research into inquiries.
Families researching senior care spend months comparing facilities. Every qualified inquiry your website generates is worth $4,000-8,000 monthly revenue for years.
Live in 1 week. Slow agencies take 90+ days while families searching for care choose facilities already online.
Families research care options on phones while visiting loved ones or during breaks at work. Mobile-first design captures these emotional, immediate searches.
Structured for 'assisted living near me' and 'memory care' searches. Families search locally and urgently, so your site needs geographic and service-specific optimization.
Update availability, add new amenities, or feature resident events. 72-hour turnaround keeps your community information accurate when families need it.
Work directly with Patrick. One person learns your community, understands your families, and gets it right the first time.

Everything you want to know about getting a website built for your assisted living community.
Transparent pricing, virtual tours, and real photos of your facility. Families are making one of the hardest decisions of their lives.
Yes. At minimum, show starting rates or price ranges for different care levels. Mystery pricing just means they'll call competitors who are upfront first.
Critical. Families read every single review before visiting. Showcase great reviews prominently.
It helps enormously. Many families are researching from out of state. 360° photos or video walkthroughs answer questions and drive qualified tour bookings.
Make scheduling stupid simple with an online calendar. Families researching at night don't want to wait until business hours to book.
Extremely. Adult children researching care for parents do it on phones between work meetings.
Emphasize personal care and local ownership. National chains are corporate. You're family-owned with deep community roots.
Google Ads for '[city] assisted living' can get tour bookings within days. For organic SEO, expect 60-90 days to rank locally.
If your ratios are good, absolutely. Families care about this deeply. Show staffing levels, certifications, and caregiver experience.
Yes. Independent living, assisted living, and memory care are different services with different searchers. Create dedicated pages for each.
