Online appointment scheduling
Let patients book visits, follow-ups, and consultations without waiting on hold during office hours.
Patients are researching symptoms and looking for providers at all hours. If your website is outdated, slow, or doesn't offer online scheduling, they're booking with the practice that makes healthcare access easy.

Your medical practice website must convert patients while staying HIPAA-compliant and building trust. Here are the 6 essential features that fill your schedule with quality patients:
Let patients book visits, follow-ups, and consultations without waiting on hold during office hours.
Provide 24/7 access to medical records, test results, prescriptions, and billing information.
List accepted insurance plans, payment options, and what patients should expect for costs.
Clearly show what conditions you treat and what medical services you provide in-depth.
Introduce your doctors and staff with their education, certifications, and areas of medical expertise.
Allow patients to complete intake paperwork, health histories, and HIPAA forms online before visits.
I sampled 3,901 healthcare practices across 24 cities, then audited the 2,601 websites among them. Here is where the score comes from, what those sites run on, and where the points are going.
73/100
Grade C, tied 17th of 47 industries I audited
The score is ten weighted checks, ranked here by what each one costs. The biggest single loss is page speed, at 5.9 of its 15 points. Longer bar, more points left on the table.
27 points of 100 left on the table. Track length is the check's weight, so a five-point check can never cost what a fifteen-point one does. Each check is averaged across the 24 markets, the same way the score itself is built, so these ten bars add back to the 73 above. The table at the foot of this section pools by sample size instead, which answers a different question and lands a little differently. Weights are on the methodology page.
I can tell a franchise or chain location from an independent, so here are both, on the checks where they split hardest. The widest gap is social profile links: 52% of independents against 84% of chains.
Scale runs 0 to 100%. Only the checks where both groups were measured the same way are comparable, so speed and the meta checks sit this one out.
The platform behind each of the 2,601 homepages I audited, where I could identify one.
A platform was identified on 61% of audited sites. The rest are hand-built or run something the fingerprinting misses, and a site can match more than one, so these do not sum to 100%.
Every rate above has its own denominator. This is where they come from, out of the 28,061 businesses in this trade in my listings census.
Of the sites that never made it into the audit, 332 would not load, 301 blocked me, and 2 turned out to be a social profile rather than a website. 1,014 of the businesses sampled are chain or franchise locations. Full method on the methodology page.

Patients choose providers online the same way they choose everything else. Here is how we make sure your practice ranks for the right searches and converts visitors into booked appointments.
One new patient worth $800-2,000 annually in visits and procedures covers eight months to nearly two years. Medical practices average 5-12 website-sourced patients monthly.
Live in 1 week so patients find you immediately. Slow agencies take 2-3 months for what we deliver in 7 days.
Patients search symptoms and book appointments on phones during lunch breaks or late at night. Mobile forms and virtual visit options serve health anxiety.
Built for condition-specific and provider searches with medical schema markup. Healthcare SEO needs symptom + provider combinations. We optimize for patient search behavior.
Update provider schedules, add new locations, or change telehealth availability. We handle edits within 72 hours for practice changes.

Everything you want to know about getting a website built for your healthcare practice.
Yes. Patients expect 24/7 access to records, test results, prescriptions, and billing. Not having one in 2026 makes you look behind the times.
If your practice supports it, make it prominent. Post-COVID, patients expect virtual visit options for non-emergency care.
SSL certificate, secure patient portal, encrypted forms, and a privacy policy. Use HIPAA-compliant form systems for anything sensitive.
List which insurance you accept and what patients should expect for costs. Mystery insurance acceptance means people call competitors first.
Make online scheduling easy, show your specialties clearly, and display provider credentials prominently.
Critical. Patients research doctors on phones during emergencies or while researching symptoms at night.
Yes. Someone searching 'sports medicine doctor' has different needs than 'primary care physician.' Create service-specific pages.
For anything collecting health information, yes. Use HIPAA-compliant form tools, not basic contact forms.
Healthcare SEO is competitive and slow. Expect 6-12 months for organic patients. Most practices supplement SEO with physician directory listings.
Prominently. Board certifications, medical school, residency, specializations. Patients check credentials before booking.
Still evaluating? Patrick wants you to know what you're signing up for. No contracts trapping you, no surprise charges. Just honest support. 90-second message.
