Keys to Success

What your wedding photographer website needs

Your photography website should showcase your style and book your dream clients without you answering the same questions repeatedly. Here are the 6 essential features that fill your wedding calendar:

Portfolio organized by wedding style

Showcase your work in categories like classic, modern, documentary, or destination weddings.

Package pricing with inclusions

Display what's included in each tier like hours of coverage, second shooter, albums, and digitals.

Availability calendar

Show open dates so couples can see if you're available for their wedding date immediately.

Booking inquiry form

Let couples submit their date, venue, and vision to start the conversation about your services.

Full wedding galleries

Display entire wedding stories from getting ready through reception to show your comprehensive coverage.

Engagement session information

Promote pre-wedding photo sessions and explain how they help couples feel comfortable on wedding day.

Original 2026 data

The state of wedding photographer websites in 2026

I sampled 2,351 wedding photographers across 24 cities, then audited the 1,721 websites among them. Here is where the score comes from, what those sites run on, and where the points are going.

74/100

Grade C, tied 10th of 47 industries I audited

Businesses sampled
2,351
Websites audited
1,721
Cities
24
Mobile speed
56/100
Google reviews (avg)
56 at 4.9★

Where the points went

The score is ten weighted checks, ranked here by what each one costs. The biggest single loss is page speed, at 6.5 of its 15 points. Longer bar, more points left on the table.

  • Page speed 6.5 lost of 15
  • Publishes a blog 6.0 lost of 10
  • Schema markup 3.1 lost of 10
  • Mobile-friendly 2.9 lost of 15
  • Links a social profile 2.6 lost of 10
  • Analytics installed 2.5 lost of 5
  • HTTPS 1.0 lost of 10
  • Meta description 1.0 lost of 5
  • Google reviews 0.6 lost of 15
  • Title tag 0.0 lost of 5

26 points of 100 left on the table. Track length is the check's weight, so a five-point check can never cost what a fifteen-point one does. Each check is averaged across the 24 markets, the same way the score itself is built, so these ten bars add back to the 74 above. The table at the foot of this section pools by sample size instead, which answers a different question and lands a little differently. Weights are on the methodology page.

What these sites are built on

The platform behind each of the 1,721 homepages I audited, where I could identify one.

  • WordPress 28.2%
  • Squarespace 23.0%
  • Wix 11.4%
  • GoDaddy 2.7%
  • Pixieset 1.4%
  • Framer 1.3%

A platform was identified on 74% of audited sites. The rest are hand-built or run something the fingerprinting misses, and a site can match more than one, so these do not sum to 100%.

How I counted

Every rate above has its own denominator. This is where they come from, out of the 2,680 businesses in this trade in my listings census.

  1. Businesses sampled 2,351 100%
  2. Had a website 2,116 90%
  3. Homepage audited 1,721 73%
  4. Speed-tested 1,407 60%

Of the sites that never made it into the audit, 155 would not load, 210 blocked me, and 30 turned out to be a social profile rather than a website. 47 of the businesses sampled are chain or franchise locations. Full method on the methodology page.

How Our Pricing Works

Why pay too much for your wedding photographers web designer?

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about wedding photographers web design

Everything you want to know about getting a website built for your wedding photography business.

Should I show full wedding galleries on my website?

Yes. Engaged couples want to see complete coverage from getting ready through reception, not just 10 hero shots.

Do I need to show wedding photography pricing?

Show package starting prices. 'Full-day coverage from $3,500,' 'Half-day from $2,000.' Transparency filters serious inquiries.

Should I list available dates on my website?

Yes. Show a calendar of open dates so couples know immediately if you're available for their wedding.

What's the most important feature for a wedding photographer website?

Portfolio quality and booking inquiry form. Couples choose photographers based on style.

Do I need engagement session information?

If you offer them, yes. Explain benefits and pricing. Many couples don't know engagement sessions exist.

How important is mobile for wedding photography websites?

Important. Engaged couples browse photographers on phones together while planning.

Should I watermark my portfolio images?

Subtle logo or watermark is fine for protection. Don't ruin beautiful photos with giant watermarks.

Do I need a blog about weddings?

Only if you love writing. Real wedding features with full galleries perform way better than generic 'wedding tips' blogs.

Should I show all my packages online?

Show starting prices and what's included at each tier. Helps couples self-select and qualifies budget before inquiries.

How long until I get wedding bookings from my website?

Wedding photography SEO is competitive. Expect 6-12 months for organic bookings.
