Our Work

From concept to live site. Here's what we've delivered.

We have built websites for multiple Dallas businesses across different industries. Yours could be next.

Original 2026 data

The state of small business websites in Dallas

I sampled 6,100 Dallas businesses across 47 industries, then audited the 4,264 websites among them. Here is where the score comes from, what those sites run on, and where the points are going.

73/100

Grade C, tied 4th of 24 cities I audited

Mobile speed
57/100
Google reviews (avg)

Where the points went

The score is ten weighted checks, ranked here by what each one costs. The biggest single loss is page speed, at 6.4 of its 15 points. Longer bar, more points left on the table.

  • Page speed 6.4 lost of 15
  • Publishes a blog 6.2 lost of 10
  • Links a social profile 3.3 lost of 10
  • Mobile-friendly 3.2 lost of 15
  • Schema markup 2.8 lost of 10
  • Analytics installed 2.1 lost of 5
  • Google reviews 1.3 lost of 15
  • Meta description 1.1 lost of 5
  • HTTPS 0.6 lost of 10
  • Title tag 0.1 lost of 5

27 points of 100 left on the table. Track length is the check's weight, so a five-point check can never cost what a fifteen-point one does. Each check is averaged across the 47 markets, the same way the score itself is built, so these ten bars add back to the 73 above. The table at the foot of this section pools by sample size instead, which answers a different question and lands a little differently. Weights are on the methodology page.

Independents against the chains

I can tell a franchise or chain location from an independent, so here are both, on the checks where they split hardest. The widest gap is analytics: 53% of independents against 78% of chains.

  • Independents (3,437 sites)
  • Chains and franchises (827 sites)
  • Runs analytics 53% vs 78%
  • Links a social profile 63% vs 86%
  • Publishes a blog 35% vs 57%
  • Has an H1 72% vs 89%
  • Uses schema markup 68% vs 84%
  • Has sharing tags 74% vs 87%

Scale runs 0 to 100%. Only the checks where both groups were measured the same way are comparable, so speed and the meta checks sit this one out.

What these sites are built on

The platform behind each of the 4,264 homepages I audited, where I could identify one.

  • WordPress 36.1%
  • Wix 7.2%
  • Squarespace 7.1%
  • Shopify 6.0%
  • GoDaddy 3.3%
  • Webflow 2.6%

A platform was identified on 70% of audited sites. The rest are hand-built or run something the fingerprinting misses, and a site can match more than one, so these do not sum to 100%.

How I counted

Every rate above has its own denominator. This is where they come from, out of the 19,855 Dallas businesses in my listings census.

  1. Businesses sampled 6,100 100%
  2. Had a website 5,016 82%
  3. Homepage audited 4,264 70%
  4. Speed-tested 3,255 53%

Of the sites that never made it into the audit, 439 would not load, 242 blocked me, and 71 turned out to be a social profile rather than a website. 827 of the businesses sampled are chain or franchise locations. Full method on the methodology page.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Dallas web design

If you have any other questions, please contact us.

How do I know if I'm paying too much for web design in Dallas?

If the quotes you've received from Dallas web designers run well into four figures, that's normal. WebFX puts freelancer builds at $500 to $10,000+ and agency builds at $3,000 to $30,000+. The question is whether that's the best use of your budget. RapidWebLaunch charges $95 a month with nothing upfront. You get the same quality of work, plus ongoing maintenance and support, and you own the site from the very first month. There's no contract, so you're choosing to stay because the value is there, not because you're locked in.

Does location matter when hiring a web designer in Dallas?

Location is far less important than responsiveness, transparency, and ongoing support. Many Dallas businesses have spent good money on local agencies only to receive a site with no post-launch care and no one to call when something breaks. What actually matters is whether your web designer has a clear process, honest pricing, and a track record you can verify. RapidWebLaunch works remotely with Dallas businesses and checks every one of those boxes.

Is it worth hiring a Dallas web agency or should I find a freelancer?

A Dallas web agency will give you a polished process and a team behind the work, but you'll pay for it and often lose that personal relationship once the invoice is closed. A freelancer gives you direct access but carries real risk if they get busy, sick, or simply move on. RapidWebLaunch was designed to give Dallas business owners the best of both: direct access to the founder who builds and maintains your site, at a flat monthly rate with no contract required.

How common is it for Dallas businesses to not have a website?

More common than it should be in 2026. I sampled 6,100 Dallas businesses for my Web Presence Index, and 18% of them had no website I could find. Nationally that share is 17%, so Dallas is right in line with the rest of the country. The businesses that do have a well-built, properly maintained site have a real and immediate advantage over the ones that don't. It's one of the few places where showing up is more than half the battle.

What financial impact does a website have on Dallas small businesses?

Nobody can promise you a revenue number, and I'd be suspicious of any study that tries. Consumer behavior is easier to pin down. In BrightLocal's 2026 consumer survey, visiting a business's website was the most likely next step after reading positive reviews, with 54% of consumers saying they do it. For Dallas small businesses, the financial case for a professional website comes down to a simple fact: most customers look you up before they contact you.

How long does web design take for a small business?

One week sounds like a bold claim, but it's the actual turnaround at RapidWebLaunch for most small business websites. For context, the industry average is 4 to 8 weeks for a freelancer and 8 to 16 weeks for an agency. The speed comes from a streamlined process and working with a single founder-led operation. There are no committees, no hand-offs, and no project queues. The caveat is that content availability matters. If you can provide your logo, photos, and a basic overview of what you want to say, a 1-week launch is very achievable.

How important is SEO for a small business website?

Technically, no. You can have a website and never do a day of SEO. But then you're relying on people who already know your name, direct referrals, or paid ads to drive traffic. BrightEdge's channel research found organic search drives 53.3% of trackable web traffic, the largest digital channel there is. Skip SEO and you're mostly invisible in it. For Dallas businesses that rely on local customers finding them online, that's a real gap. A solid website is the starting point. SEO is what turns it into a lead generation tool, and I offer SEO services for clients who want to go further.

How old is too old for a small business website?

There's no universal expiry date. The checks tell you more than the calendar does. Of the 4,264 Dallas sites I audited, 21% failed the mobile-friendly check, and the average mobile speed score came in at 57 out of a hundred. Older sites tend to be behind on exactly those things: mobile layout, load times, SEO structure. If yours is pushing five years without a meaningful update, it's almost certainly showing its age. If you want to know exactly where yours stands before making any decisions, I offer a free website audit at rapidweblaunch.com/resources/website-audits.
