Indianapolis businesses have already put us to the test. Scroll through and see what we built.
I sampled 5,282 Indianapolis businesses across 46 industries, then audited the 3,571 websites among them. Here is where the score comes from, what those sites run on, and where the points are going.
73/100
Grade C, tied 4th of 24 cities I audited
The score is ten weighted checks, ranked here by what each one costs. The biggest single loss is page speed, at 6.5 of its 15 points. Longer bar, more points left on the table.
27 points of 100 left on the table. Track length is the check's weight, so a five-point check can never cost what a fifteen-point one does. Each check is averaged across the 46 markets, the same way the score itself is built, so these ten bars add back to the 73 above. The table at the foot of this section pools by sample size instead, which answers a different question and lands a little differently. Weights are on the methodology page.
I can tell a franchise or chain location from an independent, so here are both, on the checks where they split hardest. The widest gap is social profile links: 63% of independents against 89% of chains.
Scale runs 0 to 100%. Only the checks where both groups were measured the same way are comparable, so speed and the meta checks sit this one out.
The platform behind each of the 3,571 homepages I audited, where I could identify one.
A platform was identified on 68% of audited sites. The rest are hand-built or run something the fingerprinting misses, and a site can match more than one, so these do not sum to 100%.
Every rate above has its own denominator. This is where they come from, out of the 12,192 Indianapolis businesses in my listings census.
Of the sites that never made it into the audit, 320 would not load, 347 blocked me, and 57 turned out to be a social profile rather than a website. 758 of the businesses sampled are chain or franchise locations. Full method on the methodology page.

We've been doing this since 2013. Here's what we've learned about what Indianapolis small businesses actually need.
Most small businesses can't write a $7,000 check for a website. We built our entire model around that reality.
A fast site makes your business look competent before a visitor has even read a word of your copy.
Your call-to-action buttons are just as easy to tap on a phone as they are to click on a desktop.
We build with Google's guidelines in mind so your site starts on the right foot and stays there.
Request as many changes as you want without worrying about the bill. That's what unlimited actually means.
Direct access means faster answers, fewer misunderstandings, and a working relationship that actually feels human.
Every one of these came from a real client who hired us. Read them and see why we're different.
Read all 124 reviews across Google, social & podcast →Reasonably priced and Patrick did an amazing job creating a beautiful and easy to use website for us. Great response time and turnaround time too!

Killer features that power your website into the future.

Every other web designer in Indianapolis wants a deposit before they start and a maintenance invoice after they finish. We don't do either. $0 to build your site, $95 a month for everything after that, and the site is yours from the first month. No lump sum, no contract, and you can cancel any month you want.

No other Indianapolis web designer will show you their prices this clearly. Here's ours.

Quotes are all over the map. WebFX's pricing research puts a professionally designed small business site at $500 to $5,000+, and full agency projects can run $3,000 to $30,000+. Our model is different: $95 a month, nothing upfront. That covers design, hosting, ongoing maintenance, and support. Your site is yours from the very first month, no strings attached. It's a way for Indianapolis small businesses to get a professional web presence without the upfront financial strain.
Most Indianapolis businesses assume they need a local web designer, but the reality is that great web design happens remotely every day. What you can't afford to compromise on is communication and post-launch support. Too many small business owners in Indianapolis have hired local providers only to find them unresponsive once the site is live. RapidWebLaunch offers direct access to the person managing your account, monthly maintenance reports, and a pricing model that keeps us motivated to perform every single month.
Most Indianapolis small businesses default to a freelancer because agencies are out of their budget. The problem is that freelancers often lack the systems, consistency, and availability that small businesses actually need. Agencies have those things, but agency builds typically run $3,000 to $30,000+ according to WebFX, and they rotate you through account managers. RapidWebLaunch gives you the personal touch of working directly with a founder alongside the reliability and structure of a proper ongoing service.
Yes, more than you'd think. I sampled 5,282 Indianapolis businesses for my Web Presence Index, and 19% have no website at all, against 17% nationally. Every one of those businesses is close to invisible to anyone searching online. That's a competitive gap worth paying attention to, whether you're one of those businesses or you're looking to stand out from them.
I won't promise a revenue number, and I'd be wary of anyone who does. People do look you up before they buy, though. BrightLocal's 2026 consumer survey found consumers are most likely (54%) to visit a business's website after reading positive reviews. For an Indianapolis business, that means every potential customer who searches for your service is making a judgment based on what they find, or don't find, online.
For a Indianapolis business comparing options, here's a realistic breakdown. Hiring a local agency typically means a 2 to 4 month timeline and a significant upfront investment. A freelancer is usually faster at 4 to 8 weeks, but quality and availability can vary. With RapidWebLaunch, the typical turnaround is about 1 week from sign-up to launch. That's not a gimmick. It's the result of a focused, founder-led process where one person handles everything and there's no project backlog to wait through.
Not immediately, but eventually yes. When your website first launches, your priority is having a professional, functional online presence. SEO matters once you want that site to attract customers who are actively searching for your services in Indianapolis. BrightEdge's channel research found that organic search drives just over half of all trackable web traffic, more than any other channel. RapidWebLaunch offers SEO as a standalone service, so you can add it when you're ready.
The clearest signals an Indianapolis business website needs a redesign: it's slow to load, it doesn't work well on mobile, it looks dated next to competitors, it's hard to update without a developer, or it isn't generating leads. You don't need all five. Even one of those issues, left unaddressed, can push customers toward someone else. Mobile is the one I'd check first: of the 3,571 Indianapolis sites I audited, 23% failed a basic mobile-friendly check, against 22% nationally. If you're not sure which category you're in, grab a free website audit from RapidWebLaunch at rapidweblaunch.com/resources/website-audits.
Still not sure? That's fair. Patrick recorded a short video that covers exactly how this works, what you get, and why Indianapolis businesses choose us. Worth two minutes of your time.
