To change a Wix template, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Wix account and go to your website’s dashboard.
2. Click on the site menu on the top-left section of the screen, then click “Create New Site.”
3. You’ll be prompted to try “Wix Studio” or to create on “Wix Editor.” Choose one that best suits your preferences. In this guide, Wix Editor will be used.
4. Click “Start Chat” if you want AI to help create your new Wix site. Otherwise, click “Set up without AI.”
5. Choose a website type similar to the Wix site for which you wish to change the template, then click “Continue.”
6. Add the apps that are also used in your Wix site.
7. You can now choose how you want to design your site. Click “Start with a template.”
8. Browse through the available templates or use the search bar to find a specific template.
9. Once you find a template you like, hover over it and click the “Edit” button.
10. On the newly created Wix site, click “Pages and Menu” on the left-hand side of the Editor. Right-click on the page where you want the template copied, then click “Copy.”
11. Navigate to your main Wix site. Then, click “Pages and Menu” in its Editor on the left-hand side. Right-click on any blank space under “Site Menu,” then click “Paste” if you want the template to retain its theme. Otherwise, click “Paste & Apply Site Theme” if you want the template’s color scheme, typography, etc., to match its destination’s theme. It’s recommended that the site’s theme be applied to the copied template to maintain consistency.
12. The copied template will now be shown in your main site’s menu. You can now transfer the contents of your old site page to the page with the new template. Afterwards, you can delete the old site page and then rename the new page to its intended name.
Remember, changing your template will affect your website’s overall design and layout, so it’s a good idea to make a backup of your current website or take note of any important content or settings before making the switch.
