How to add a hyperlink in Wordpress?

Adding a hyperlink in WordPress is straightforward, making it easy to link to other web pages from your content.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide:

1. Highlight the Text: First, select the text in your post or page that you want to turn into a link.

2. Click the Link Button: With your text selected, click on the chain link icon in the WordPress editor toolbar. It looks like two chain links interconnected.

3. Enter the URL: A small popup will appear where you can type or paste the URL you want to link to. Here, you also have the option to search for a page or post within your WordPress site to link to.

4. Apply the Link: Once you’ve entered the URL, either hit ‘Enter’ on your keyboard or click the ‘Apply’ button (it resembles a return arrow) in the popup.

5. Optional – Open Link in New Tab: If you want the link to open in a new tab when clicked, click on the link after it’s inserted, then click the ‘Link Options’ (a gear icon). Here, you can check the box to ‘Open link in a new tab’.

6. Save Your Changes: Don’t forget to update or publish your post or page to save your changes.
