How to reset a Wordpress website?

To reset your WordPress site to its original settings, follow these simple steps:

Back Up Your WordPress Site

Before resetting, ensure you save your data. Use a plugin or your hosting provider’s tools to back up your website.

Use a Plugin

1. Install a plugin designed for resetting WordPress, such as WP Reset or Advanced WordPress Reset.

2. Activate the plugin.

3. Navigate to the plugin’s settings within your WordPress dashboard and follow the instructions to reset your site. Most plugins have a ‘Reset’ button.

Manually Reset via phpMyAdmin (for advanced users)

1. Go to your hosting account’s cPanel and open phpMyAdmin.

2. Select your WordPress database from the navigation bar.

3. Check the ‘Check All’ box to select all tables.

4. From the dropdown menu, choose ‘Drop’ to delete the tables. Warning: This action is irreversible.

After Resetting

  • Reinstall any themes or plugins you wish to use.
  • Import your backup if you need to restore specific content.

Important Note: Resetting your WordPress site will delete all content, themes, and plugin configurations. Ensure this is what you intend before proceeding.
